Sonia & Nigel - When I See Paris Again

A Nationwide NZ Tour Celebrating Music, Travel & Connection!

Beloved Franco-American–Kiwi duo Sonia & Nigel are thrilled to announce their When I See Paris Again tour — a musical journey across New Zealand from October to November 2025, blending French charm, Kiwi warmth, and world-class musicianship.

Experience a taste of Paris with original songs from the duo’s acclaimed book and CD Sweet Paname, alongside world-folk favourites that will transport audiences from France to Aotearoa and beyond  – quite literally so for those lucky enough to catch their shows aboard the Wellington - Picton Interislander ferry!

Having performed together around the world for nearly a decade, Sonia & Nigel bring audiences a polished, intimate and soulful performance that celebrates music as a vehicle for joy, healing, connection and cross-cultural storytelling.

The When I See Paris Again Tour is a tribute to Sonia’s home city of Paris.

Sonia Wilson is a Franco-American singer-songwriter whose music has taken her from the streets of Paris, across the Kenyan savannah, through remote Himalayan villages, and to New Zealand, which she now calls home. When she’s not performing, Sonia teaches ukulele, guitar and voice.

Nigel Gavin Nigel Gavin is an exceptional guitarist and multi-instrumentalist whose career has taken him across New Zealand and around the world. Originally from Long Island, New York, he has become a cornerstone of the New Zealand music scene, performing on 7-string guitar, banjo, mandolin, bass – indeed, almost anything with strings. Nigel has toured internationally with the legendary Robert Fripp and the League of Crafty Guitarists and has performed and recorded with groups such as the Nairobi Trio, the Fondue Set, the Jews Brothers, the Blue Bottom Stompers, Lorina Harding, Wayne Gillespie, Whirimako Black, and Jonathan Besser & Bravura. He also founded and mentors the acclaimed guitar ensemble Gitbox Rebellion.
