Katchafire Announce Collab with Brinsley Fordeon Get Away Single + Announce USA Tour Dates
Katchafire have announced a collaboration Brinsley Forde, founder of British reggae group Aswad, on their single Get Away single (out July 3); the next single to be lifted from their forthcoming Revival 2.0 Guest Editionalbum, which is slated for release on November 27.
“The first time I heard Katchafire was through a friend from New Zealand. I was doing a radio show and looking for international reggae acts, I got a pre-release copy of ‘Revival’ and loved it. When I was asked to be part of this project I jumped at the chance, it was a no brainer”, Brinsley Forde said.
Katchafire have announced USA tour dates across California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington, with special guest Jordan T joining the first week before they support J-Boog for some seriously irie shows. (Dates & venues below).
The Revival 2.0 Guest Edition album unites roots and reggae voices from across the globe including Hawaii’s Mike Love, Australian First Nations artist Emily Wurramara, and Jamaican legends Third World, with more iconic collaborations dropping throughout the year.
Katchafire integrate vibrant reggae rhythms with Māori influences, producing a distinctive sound that has achieved international recognition. Over the past twenty-five years, the group has served as prominent advocates for Māori music and Pacific reggae, consistently releasing tracks that underscore themes of family, unity, and cultural pride. Their dedication is evident in both their impactful melodies and dynamic live performances, resulting in music that has received positive acclaim from audiences worldwide.

“After three decades of collaborating with some of the best in the business, Katchafire are back with a special album. First released in 2003, Revival showcased the band’s easy-listening roots reggae, nodding to R&B and jazz through comprehensive instrumentals and soulful vocals, putting forward a fresh sound that appealed to New Zealand listeners.
It was the debut album that marked the beginning of a decades-long journey for Katchafire, who show no signs of slowing down with the band now spanning across three generations of whānau.
The record was certified platinum within a few months and went on to have a resurgence two decades later, re-entering the charts in 2023 and ranking among Aotearoa’s top 10 most popular albums by New Zealand artists that year. The popularity of Revival has also remained strong not just with Kiwi audiences but with fans around the world.” – Rolling Stone Magazine, 18 May 2026
